prix Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 Hi all -- every once in awhile i'll hit a dip in the road (always at low speeds--usually when driving around the 'hood) and hear a crunch noise. don't remember hearing it for awhile now. anyhow, lasts for only a second then it's gone. it's got to be a fairly big dip to make the noise -- little ones don't cause it. what is this? any reason to be concerned? nobody's said anything when i've had it in for checkups (as in you MUST replace XXX, you dolt). thanks!
SW03ES Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 Could it be the front bottoming out? The LS400s are quite low in front and its pretty easy to bottom them out.
prix Posted February 17, 2004 Author Posted February 17, 2004 not sure i understand. you mean there's only so much 'bounce' in these cars and that i've reached the limit? if it is bottoming out, what's hitting what? or what would you guess is hitting what? thanks much.
prix Posted February 17, 2004 Author Posted February 17, 2004 yes, likea crunchy/creak. ok, i'll make a note of this. tx.
bigDlexus Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 I had the EXACT same problem in my 99 LS. It is the sway bar bushings. If it's under waranty, get them replaced, don't let them try to just grease them, it WILL come back, and maybe then not covered. Good luck- BigD
amcdonal86 Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Anyone have any idea if this fixed the problem?
