Air Idle Control Valve For 95Ls400

Noticed that when I start my car in the morning, it will surge a bit, as it works its way down to it's normal idle speed. I have cleaned the throttle body, and done various other things all to no avail. My local shop told me that what I need is a new Air Idle Control Valve. Where is this located on the engine, and is it something that is inexpensive to replace myself?

Thanks!

David

I would try cleaning it before replacing it. It just might be dirty and the valve mechnism not moving freely. If you did the throttle body yourself then it is no more complicated than that was. Give it a go.

Here's a picture of it.
