Sunglass Holder Wont Stay Shut

Recently the sunglass holder on my wif'e 06 RX330 will not stay closed. Usually I am able to slam it closed, but lately it doesn't want to stay shut. Has anyone else had this problem? I believe that it must be some sort of srping that has gotten weak, yet that seems a little strange since we rarely use this.

There must be something broken in the locking mechanism. You can remove the entire overhead console and take a peak behind the door to see if it can be fixed. To remove the overhead console, remove the clear light cover (prying off with a flathead screwdriver) and remove two (or maybe 4?) phillips screws. Then there should be 2 more screws needing removal in the sunglasses case area. Then just pull the console down and away from the ceiling.
