StPeteDan727 Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 My '03 RX recently (within 1000 miles) having a vibration, so when I took it to the dealer on Saturday for a 105,000 oil change they checked it out and said that the drive shaft needs to be replace for $1600. I've had many cars over the years and most I kept past 150,000 miles and never (remember?) replacing a drive shaft. Is this unusual for the car, or a common occurance? Thank you, in advance, for any assistance. Btw, I do have an extended warranty that is good through 108,290 so it looks like the repair will be covered, but still kind of puzzled. Thanks, Dan
lenore Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Is your AWD or front wheel drive...If AWD are they talking about driveshaft to rear wheels? Could just be the bearing sleeve mounts in the center of the car...My Car is AWD and I am at 182k miles and have had no problems. If you hit something on the road and bent the drive shaft I could see that causing your problem.
