Transmission

I am new to the forum. I needed to find a reliable, SAFE, car for my daughter and found a 94 ES 300. The seller said it leaked a little tranny fluid, but not too much. Well, my definition of too much is definitly different. The transmission has really gone down hill and needs to be replaced. I am trying to find out if that is something I can do myself. I tried a search to find instructions, but no luck.

My question is can i do this? Can anyone give me directions to a description on what is involved. I have reasonable mechanical skills and have replaced two before, but they were on 1960's vintage cars and were pretty simple.

Any advice? I am on a budget and can't shell out a couple thousand. plus, I like to get a little greasy.
