GSUSA
Hello, I bought a 2001 GS 430 with 134k miles recently. I realized that the outside temp is showing as -22 Deg F all the time. After going through the repair manual, I realized that connection must be open because -22 indicate a very high resistance. The manual says at 25 Degrees Celsius out side temperature the ambient temp sensor resistance should be 1.6 to 1.8 Kilo Ohms. At 50 Degrees Celsius the resistance should be 0.5 to 0.7 Kilo Ohms. This info pointed towards very high resistance to indicate that coldest temperature. Sure enough, when I tried checking the sensor, I see a cut hanging wire and no sensor either. I really don’t know how and where it is placed. So if some body has pictures of the location and properly installed ambient temperature sensor please post it. I am planning to buy a new sensor any way to hook it up. Also please help me on how I would connect this cut wiring properly so they won’t short later. Thanks.
