Entering Airport Location On The Nav

I haven't tried it out yet, but to save some time, I thought maybe those of you who know the answer can tell me. How do you enter an airport location into the NAV? Airports usually do not have any addresses per se. Does it understand the 3-letter airport code like IAD, LGA, and PHL?

I taped JFK and get the way....but NAV did not show gates...

Yeah, points of interest shows the closest airports by name.
