The Antenna mast can be removed by unscrewing the locking ring on top. Pull the antenna mast out and you will likely find that the long plastic thingy with the teeth on it has broken. I bought a replacement mast on ebay and followed the instructions to install it. Easy. Note that I couldn't figure out how to remove and disassemble the entire power antenna unit in order to find and remove the broken plastic piece so it is probably still inside.
