There is a special socket made just for 02 sensors, The socket has a gap running the length of the socket so you can get over the wire. I beleive it is a standard size.

Thanks for the input but I need to know the exact size, whether it's a 22mm or something else.I'm aware what kind of socket (wiring gap)you need to use but not the actual size. I read a post by one member that he bought a standard size sensor socket and it would not fit. Don't want to waste time getting the wrong one. Anyone here actually used one?

Standard size is 7/8", 99% of oxygen sensors work with that size fine. Some sensors may feel loose but it's rarely an issue.
