2001 Rx300 Cruise Control Issue

Hello all, new to the forum. :D

My RX300 has an issue with the cruise control. It works fine, but after about 40 minutes of 70-75mph driving, it suddenly disengages. I can reset it, but then after a minute or so, it disengages again. It will continue this shorter cycle indefinitely. I suspect a heat issue based on the reliable time interval that the failure occurs, but unfortunately, this problem doesn't occur on every trip over 40 minutes. I would appreciate any thoughts regarding this problem. Thanks.

It's gotta be a computer issue, not really sure what's sending bad signals though.

Thanks for the response. When you say "computer", are you referring to the cruise control ECU? From what I've read, that's a fairly easy swap-out part and I've seen used units available for around $100.
