  1. Thanks for the quick response. I did, and they gave me a refund. I've got another on the way from a different seller. Not sure if it's the same sensor manufacturer. Are you thinking it was just a bad sensor?
  2. I replaced the right front parking sensor on my 2011 RX350 with one I purchased on eBay. When I started the vehicle, in got a screen I'd never seen before telling me to check both front corner sensors. Has anyone dealt this this issue? Thanks.
  3. Perhaps you have a small leak in the heater core. Does it smell like anti-freeze? Open your radiator cap and take a wiff. You could even try warming some in the microwave and trying the sniff test.
  4. I won't use WD-40 on anything. You can try spray grease, but I always recommend LPS-1 or LPS-2. They are both available from Amazon (and other sources) and are used for lubricating various components on aircraft where corrosion is a safety concern. They are more expensive than WD-40, but there is no worry of corrosion, and they last last a long time. LPS-1 is a very light lube, while LPS-2 is a bit heavier. There is an LPS-3, but it's really thick (almost wax-like) and not commonly used. You will never see WD-40 anywhere near airplanes.
  5. While inspecting my front suspension components, I noticed that the OEM struts were leaking on both sides. After reading some posts and reviews, I decided to go with the KYB G2 front shock/strut. And since the car is a bit over 120K, I figured I'd replace the rears with KYBs , as well. I also read several posts that suggested replacing the mounts at the same time, however, I couldn't find a KYB front mount for my model. I see that KYB makes a rear mount and that Monroe offers a front mount so I'm curious what others have done when they've switched to KYB struts. I checked the KYB website and they don't list a front mount for sc300/400. Thanks.
  6. Thanks for links, I really appreciate it. Regarding tramling, I'm not sure what that is. What I hear is a loud rattling/banging from the front suspension (can't really tell which side) when I go over any sizable bumps. Unfortunately, our lousy roads in Michigan have plenty of bumps. Eric
  7. I can hear quite a rattle in the front end of my '97 SC400 (113K miles) and based on what I've read here on the forums, it sounds like it may be the lower control arm bushings. Is there a way to confirm this with the wheels off the ground? I've searched and couldn't find anything. I know to look for lateral play in the wheels when checking ball joints, but I'm not sure how to check these bushings. Also, is there a way to test the steering arm bushings? I've read a few posts regarding these and I figure if I'm checking front end things, I might as well check them all. Thanks Eric
  8. The heater in driver's side seat in my RX300 has a problem. When you switch in on (either hi or lo) both the back and bottom heat very quickly, and then shut off. If I leave the switch on, in 15 minutes, the seat will start heating again and the cycle will repeat. On a recent 4 hour trip, I could set my watch by the constant 15 minute event cycle. I'm guessing there is some type of overheat safeguard in the system and that's what's causing it to turn off. My question is, why is it heating up so fast and hot that it trips an overheat switch? Has anyone else seen this? Thanks. Eric
  9. Hi cduluk. Thanks for the response. When you say "computer", are you referring to the cruise control ECU? From what I've read, that's a fairly easy swap-out part and I've seen used units available for around $100. Eric
  10. Hello all, new to the forum. :D My RX300 has an issue with the cruise control. It works fine, but after about 40 minutes of 70-75mph driving, it suddenly disengages. I can reset it, but then after a minute or so, it disengages again. It will continue this shorter cycle indefinitely. I suspect a heat issue based on the reliable time interval that the failure occurs, but unfortunately, this problem doesn't occur on every trip over 40 minutes. I would appreciate any thoughts regarding this problem. Thanks. Eric
