ggemigniani Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 I have a '90 LS and it has only a drivers side airbag built into the steering wheel.. I want to remove the front seats and carpeting to install some sound deadening. Is there any risk of inadvertently setting off the air bag when disturbing the front seats and carpeting?
1990LS400 Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 No risk. Might be different if you had a 98-up LS with side air bags in the seat backs or a 93-up (?) LS with front seat belt tensioners. You'll be disconnecting the electric seats. It never hurts to be cautious and disconnect the battery when doing anything with the electricals.
