tvd0123 Posted December 21, 2009 Share Posted December 21, 2009 I was driving one night, when suddenly I could not accelerate anymore and the car began to slow down and the battery sign came on. In addition, the wheel and pedals became stiff and the car was in a way 'shutting down' although I could hear the motor still running. I pulled to the right and put it in 'park' when I realized that at the front dashboard the 'P' was not illuminated. I shifted to 'R' 'N' 'D', etc but it showed no sign that the gears were shifting. I turned the car off in order to restart it. Upon turning the key, the starter seemed to spin/run but the car was not actually starting. As a result, the battery is dead. I know the battery was fine because i recently changed it. I also had the shift switch changed but the same incident occured. Any ideas as to what could be the problem.
