The "category" of tire you get is your call ... depends on how you use and where you drive your car. Most people get by with all season tires. I'm doubting that, living in Connecticut, you'll want to drive on "Grand Touring Summer" tires in winter unless you have suicidal tendencies. :o

My take is that if I'm going to spend money on a Lexus, I'm going to get the most pleasure out of it by using heavy duty ice and snow tires in winter on less nice wheels and high performance summer (not all season) tires during the other three seasons on nicer wheels ... but I'm a wacko car nut.
