Navigation/audio Screen On Mark Levinson Unit

A problem on my 2002 ES300, w/68,000 miles on the clock: the "Open" button on the face of the nav/audio screen, which makes the whole screen flip open so you can insert a single CD or cassette tape, no longer works. For a while, it worked intermittently, but now it won't open the screen at all. Any ideas? Can the screen assembly be removed so the button can be repaired, or ???

Might have to replace the entire unit or take it to someone who can open up the existing unit and replace that tiny switch. it might be a loose saughter wire which fell off and just need to be saughtered again.
