Kyle V Posted October 19, 2009 Share Posted October 19, 2009 I have a 1996 Lexus LS400. Last month had to replace my starter, they couldn't even rebuild it. Drove fine for about 3 weeks, then last week I was driving around fine, stopped, left the car on, for about 5 minutes, then as I was driving away I noticed my engine not shift, and noticed on dash that even though I was in Drive, Low was also highlighted on my HUD. I immediately pulled over to safe location and tried turning car off and back on, and when I switch to drive it immediately highlights Low on my dash. Reverse works, and Low works fine. It does not shift out of low. Any ideas? I am in Tuscaloosa, AL so I can't get to a Lexus dealer, but I got my starter replaced last month at Toyota dealer. steve2006 Posted October 19, 2009 Share Posted October 19, 2009 Hi, Welcome to the LOC, 1st thing I would do is have the transmission diagnostic codes read and go from there.
