dan lx470 Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Hi, my 2003, 100,000, miles has just started to run hot when I say hot I mean not as cold I have come to expect, The passenger side vent has stopped blowing cold, I live in South Florida during cloudy weather it is just fine but it is just not as cold as it used to be. I have never missed a service Lexus dealer only, any ideas thanks.
NicLX470 Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Just the passenger side? The A/C is probably on "dual mode" and the temp setting is warmer than on the drivers side.

Yes just the passenger side, it feels like there is no A/c on at all. Please could you explain what you mean by the dual mode setting, Thank you for your help.

I'm not totally sure how it works on the 03-07 LX. Or if it is even possible for that matter...but try pressing the "climate" button and see if there is an option for "dual" mode for the driver and passenger to select different temperatures. And make sure the vents are open too.

I have tried all the obvious the instructions are quit self explanatory, it just is not as cold as normal age I can understand but the passenger side being much warmer is a mystery. 100,000 miles first ever problem have been spoiled.

Yeah that is wierd. The only other thing I can think of is that something behind the dash is disconnected letting spoiled warmer air pass into the passenger side vents.

Problem solved low freon, There is no dual setting when the freon is low the system defaults to the drivers side. Thanks for your input, Hope this helps somebody.
