Removing 1999 Rx300 Radio

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the radio on the 1999 RX300. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

i don't think you can remove the radio because there is a computer on the back of it which controls the AC/HEAT.

What are you planning to do? Replace it with an aftermarket radio?

I actually wanted to detail/repair the black plastic piece that surrounds the stereo screen(deep scratches). I assumed that it was connnected with the radio. Is it possible to detach the plastic dash molding and get to the piece I'm after?

you can take the black piece off that's holding the radio screen. I took mine off when i replaced the radio screen with an after market screen!

My original plan was to replace the original radio screen with a smaller screen(size of a driver license) and install it some where on the dash, but i could not find an adapter. I just bought a 6.4 screen and placed it on the middle console to watch dvd/tv and moved the original radio screen in the glove.

I don't think so either. The ac controls/radio and everything else is built on the radio unit itself, but you can replace the factory monitor.
