maynard900 Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Hello, I just bought a white 2001 Is300. completely stock except for newer style chrome lexus rims. I think they are the IS250 rims. 18 x8 front with 225/40/18 goodyear eagle F1 Tires. Rear is 18 x 8.5" with 255/35/18 goodyear Eagle F1 tires. Stock ride height. I am worried the rear tires may be too wide and may come in contact with fender if I hit hard bump or something. The tires and wheels are brand new. One lexus owner said the wheel set up is fine. Another told me I need to go narrower on rear or shave/roll fenders. I just dont want to damage my fenders from something i can correct now. Thanks.
smooth1 Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I have a friend that has stock 350 rims on his IS300. I put them on it myself, and there haven't been any rubbing issues. But some people just want all the rim sizes to match and don't like the draw backs of a staggered set up. If that's the case, then maybe just trade them for another set of 18x8's so you can rotate the tires and all that. THe IS250 AWD comes with the same size rims all around. And I'm pretty sure they all have the same 50mm offset.
