Walter Nash
I have an 04 RX 330. The black plastic trim pieces on the triangular side windows at the rear have blown off. My dealer told me this was common on the 04 and 05 models until a change was made in the design. Instead of selling the trim piece (which is a snap on item with push pins, one must buy the entire window assy to get it (and then remove the old window and install and reseal the new one).. Does anyone know of an aftermarket source for the trim piece only or of another fix? Thanks Walter Tucson AZ
RX in NC
Sorry about your situation. What a stupid approach for Lexus to handle what is simply a trim issue.... If you can't find the trim pieces through aftermarket sources or online Lexus parts sellers (some can be found right here as sponsors of this forum), try your local salvage yards.... Our dealer replaced it for free since it was more of a design issue. You are correct in that you have to replace the entire window in order to replace the trim. They had to special order it. Took about a week. Have a 2004 RX330. Cole

Explained this was a pervasive problem, design flaw, etc. Was told "not anything I can do for you but replace the whole window at your expense".
