1. Take the cover off with a phillips screw driver....

2. Pull out the 194...

Unless something has been drastically changed on the 98-00 It's as simple as 1, 2, done.

You should get LED replacements B)

yea thats what i'm thinking. i want to get white ones like they have in the new Lexus models.

Hello from Calgary. The license plate lights seem so simple...however...after removing the 4 Phillips screws the 2 little plastic covers over the bulbs refuse to come off. This is a '93 LS400 with 258,000 kms on it. I'm afraid to force the little "windows" as they'll probably break easily. I will try spraying with WD-40 in case that loosens them and allows the windows to fall out.

Anyone have a better suggestion?

yea thats what i'm thinking. i want to get white ones like they have in the new Lexus models.

You botched the quote B) lol

And there are little "snap" kind of fittings on the lenses.

Take a small flat head screwdriver, and just pry on it very gently and you'll be able to see where the snaps are.

They pull right out.
