2006 Ls 430 Headlight Alignment

There are probably adjustment screws on the back of each headlight unit similar to on my 2000 LS400. There may be specific instructions for your car. The repair manual for my 00 LS says to turn both screws on the back of each headlight unit the exact same number of turns when adjusting the aim. It may be different for your LS430.

There is very little space behind my headlights to maneuver a wretch. If mine needed adjustment I'd have my mechanic do it ... don't want to go blinding people with the HID's.

I just had to adjust my left sided Xenon. It was pretty tight in there. This is for the left drivers side only on my 2005 LS 430. Open the hood, remove the plastic trim pieces above the headlight (there were two pieces. Remove the screws holding in the closest fuse box (dont need to remove any fuses or electrical connections) and pull it up out of the way (not much room but gives you access to the space). Once all that stuff is out of the way, there is a gray box with 3 or 4 tiny screws holding it in place (will need a small phillips head to manuever in that space). Take that piece out (be carefull because there is a shaft inside that box with round gears on each side of it that keeps each of the 3 adjustment screws from turning). Take that gray piece with the gear in it out, and adjust the headlight as needed. The screw closest to the fender is for the Xenon adjustment and the screw closest to the radiator is the High-Beam adjustment. Shine your lights on a wall so you can get it where you need it. When putting it back together, that gray piece with the gear in it needs to be aligned correctly on the gears (easy to do b/c there are slots in the gray piece that "hold the gear" in the correct position while you carefully replace that part. Be carefull not to drop any of the little screws (like I did) b/c youll never find it after that.

Good luck and I hope its your left light that needs adjusting b/c I have not needed to adjust the right side. There is also a diagram in your owners manual showing all of this (picture shows the space AFTER all the plastic pieces covering it have been removed. Im sure the dealer would charge a lot to do this task that you could do on your own.

Tools needed:

-small phillips head screwdriver for tiny screws and adjustment of headlight beams

-socket or wrench to remove bolts
