laxdude3622
Hey I have a 1990 LS400 with a Pioneer system in it. I do not have a cd player, so when I try to put a tape in, or a tape coming from a portable cd player, the cassettes will not play. Any ideas on what is wrong, and what I can do? mgbeecher
I read on clublexus.com that if you insert a cassette and the stereo switches to FM it usually means that the belts in your cassette player need replacing. Belts only last about 10 years. can anyone help?? ←
flanker271
It was the belts. I had the same problem until I pulled out my head unit and changed the 3 belts. There are 2 sub belts (for cassette play) and a main belt (for loading and unloading). Contact member "Pioneersuby" for the belts. He charges $20.00 for the 3 belts and solution manual. As far as I know there is no other way to get these belts other than through him because they are imported from Japan and no longer manufactured. Let me know if you are interested. ← My cassette player is having that exact problem. GREAT FORUM!!!! - LOTS of helpful information to a newbie like myself. Not sure if the previous person took you up on the offer - if not, I am interested. How do I contact ? Must not have enough postings. Not able to contact you or Pioneersuby mentioned previously to place an order.
flanker271
Wow, this is such an old thread and there are still replies. You can contact me at: hanb@email.arizona.edu And yes, I still have the second set with owner's manual.
