Is300 Cd Player Problem

I am new to this site and was wondering if anyone could help. I have an 01 is300 and i bought the car and the dealer did not tell me the cd player was displaying an error 1 message. Some are saying it can be fixed and others are saying i will have to buy a new one. I would really like to keep my factory player. Any one else ever have this problem??? Please help

the factory stereo is known for being flaky.... i would ditch it completely and get ya something that will be reliable... just my opinion
