tong Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Hi: The check engine light was on yesterday on my 2000 Lexus RX300. It turned out being P0770: shift solenoid E malfunction. I could not find any post in this forum. Did any body have experienced such a problem? Thanks

If you use the search function (bottom left) and search on "P0770" or "transmission failure" you will get a lot of info. Or see post #99 by lenore which pretty much sums up your problem. lenore Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Did your rpm go up also in every gear, if so you have lost overdrive...and probably the transmission.
