430 Power Mirrors Broken..

Has anyone had any experience with fixing the power mirrors on a 2002-430? My drivers mirror works fine and the passenger one moves about a 1/2 inch when trying to close.

I'm wondering if I can just lubricate the mirror joint cause it seems like it wants to work but maybe the system is designed to stop if it feels resistance? Maybe? Where can I pick one up used since I believe these are quite expensive new...

Thanks!

I have replaced two driver-side and three passneger-side mirrors along with one mirror controller. Fortunatley all were under warranty because they are approximately $900 each at the dealer. If you're out of warranty, I would suggest trying some silcon spray.

Thanks maybe I'll give that a try.

I had no idea they were THAT expensive maybe I'll just leave them in the normal position so they don't wear out too quickly since I do not currently have a warranty. I'm thinking of getting an extended one, Its a few grand but we all know how expensive things can be to fix...

My drivers side one quit working after i bent it back the wrong way one day. I found a used one on ebay for $25 and installed it myself. You may want to check there.

You can try lubricating the rubber pad underneath the mirrors; every once in a while it seems it gets clogged with yuck. I blast it with the Sonus spray and all kinds of nast comes out of it...then let it sit overnight and the next day it seems to be ok. Also it it's stuck have someone hit the mirror switch and GENTLY assist the motor as it tries to put the mirror back into position. So far I've had to do it twice in the last 3 years; maybe it dries out and restricts the mirror movement? I can't see any gaps or any other way to get in to lubricate the gears or whatnot.

I've seen a bunch of mirrors on ebay and that seems to be the way to go; the mirror part itself is about $700 from the dealer.
