msn_100dc
I own a 00 gs 300 with about 127k miles on it. Lately Ive noticed only in cold conditions (around 55f in !Removed!) when I turn the ignition to on, I receive multiple clicks from the dash. In addition to this, the instrument panel flickers somewhere between on and off and if the headlights are on they do too. While this problem persists, the car refuses to start, not even the normal click from a worn starter. When the initial problem finally ceases, the engine turns over and chugs for a while until i give it a lil acceleration, in which all noticeable problems stop. Its happened twice under similar conditions over the course of a week and a half. The first time, vsc off, vsc, and the cel were thrown. the second time, all lights from the previous time were turned off (after the cel flashed on and off for about a minute). Im inclined to think it may be a grounding problem or maybe a weak battery, but i dont have too much electrical experience. What do you think? msn_100dc
Actually, it couldn't be the battery. when it does turn over, it does so at full power. Ground?
eatingupblacktop
Yes, check the ground for your batt & starter. Also check the batt connections - nice and clean and tight. If everything checks out, load test both.
msn_100dc
Makes sense to me. I woulda checked it already, but time isnt friendly. Just wanted a vote of confidence before I go in there. The terminal connections themselves, Im surprised I didn't think of that as well... Ill see whats up with it when i get the time, thanks.
