nsjoel808
I changed the tps today due to lunging and stupidly messed around with some other stuff, realized there was a huge gash in the intake hose drove it down the street (had to move it) the lunging has stopped but the idle was no good still, i figured due to the cracked hose. when i got to new location the battery got disconnected and i fixed the hose, however when i put it back on it idled fine now but when i put my foot on the gas it died instantly every time. Is there some kind of fuel cut off if the battery dies? what could this be? what could cause the car to die when the gas is pressed?
kingjack133
....when you installed the new TPS did you rotate to proper position?......ie. ohmeter reads infinity? If not, this might be the problem. Otherwise i think it is fuel related and i would focus on fuel delivery systems.
nsjoel808
I don't know if thats it cause it idles fin now, but how exactly do you connect the ohmeter to the tps?
kingjack133
1. insert .70mm feeler guage between throttle body stop screw and lever 2. connect ohmeter to terminals IDL and E2 3. loosen tps mounting screws, slowly rotate clkwise until ohm reads infinity and tighten
