  1. 92 dies after start up but if i take air filter housing off it idles fine, when closed it dies, there is a gas swell and white smoke when tried to start, any thoughts cleaned iacv (is there any settings that can be messed with if it is taken completely apart?) replaced tps, air filter only thing i can think off is the maf, how do I test this to see if its ok w/o buying 1 first? any thoughts?
  2. i know its been said a million times and i have searched but i cant seem to figure out how to clean the iacv on a 92. it looks way different on a 92 then other years and i dont want to *BLEEP* up any factory settings that would cause the car to bad after cleaning. could some one throw me some pictures/guides please, also info on cleaning egr there is a rattle in the engine and the smell of gas thank you
  3. I don't know if thats it cause it idles fin now, but how exactly do you connect the ohmeter to the tps?
  4. I changed the tps today due to lunging and stupidly messed around with some other stuff, realized there was a huge gash in the intake hose drove it down the street (had to move it) the lunging has stopped but the idle was no good still, i figured due to the cracked hose. when i got to new location the battery got disconnected and i fixed the hose, however when i put it back on it idled fine now but when i put my foot on the gas it died instantly every time. Is there some kind of fuel cut off if the battery dies? what could this be? what could cause the car to die when the gas is pressed?
  5. i got same problem, suspect the flex pipe... any one?
  6. thanks for all the advice, I need to do a lot of work, is there anyway to get it professionally scanned to find out exactly whats wrong, this method looks kinda hectic. also the speedometer doesn't work what do you think could cause this, do i need a new speed sensor? how would you inspect plugs to find out whats going on in my engine? thanks for all your help.
  7. what kind of scanner do you use for a 92 es300? obd ii? I heard that that was 94 and up, also where do you plug in? under hood or in car? the connection under the hood has some sort of grease all over it. the car runs crappy but there is no check engine light on
  8. I have the exact same problem and was told it was the Throttle Position Sensor, has anyone had results in changing this?
