Make sure you deflect the stream of oil draining from the pan AWAY from the protective shield, otherwise oil will flow into the "cover" and get all over the bottom of the car.

Hello:

The oil filter is in the likes of an Aircraft engine style. If they would use metal screen wafers, instead of paper, all you would have to do is clean them with gas and presto no waste. But mercantilism needs to be alive and well. C
