nm91ls400
Friends, This is my first posting on this forum. I have been lurking this forum (and learning from you) for some time now. I need your advice on two problems I have on my Lexus. 1. The cruise control does not engage - the cruise control indication (green letters) on the dash comes on when the cruise switch is pressed but the cruise speed can't be set. Is this a common problem on 91 LS400? I hope this is not an expensive fix. I was cited last week by a TX cop for speeding ($140 damage)! 2. I took my car on a 2600 mile trip last week and it performed very well. A piece of tire from the car ahead of me on the freeway hit my passenger side fog light assembly and broke the glass lens. The adjacent headlight is not damaged! Where can I get only a fog light assembly (most parts sellers sell the brand new after-market headlight + fog/driving light assembly as a unit for about $300). Many thanks in anticipation of your advice and have a very happy and safe 2004. - Divyesh (91 LS400, 104k miles)

wwest
Cruise control will not engage if any, ANY, rear brake lights have failed.
VBdenny
Interesting information. I had a rear brake light out and it put a little indicator on the dash on. I replaced the bulb and it went out. I didn't know about the cruise. I guess I just never use it so I didn't notice it didn't work. A safety feature ya think? nm91ls400
Thanks for your suggestions so far, friends. I did check all the rear brake lights and they all work (no indication on dashboard either), so I think there is something else that needs to be checked for the cruise functionality. I will continue to look for a fog light assembly. - Divyesh
