Camshaft Timing

Recommended Posts

After replacing 14 intake and exhaust valves on a 00 LS 400 im bamboozeld on the correct timimg marks on the gears inside the valve cover. Both banks have single dots and dual dots 180degrees opposite from each other.. Im assuming that VVT mechanism advances Intake cam timing so im moving both In. cams to retarded position when installing ex cams. Obviously the single dots are not appliccable to both banks as the engine wont turn more than 100 degrees or so..(by hand ) anybody got any advice ?... mainly just some basic info on the cam gears (not the belt sproket) would be appreciated
