jbsmithsa Posted December 25, 2003 Posted December 25, 2003 I am looking for feedback regarding Toyo Tires. I have not heard of them before but had a local tire dealer recommend them to me for my 95 LS 400. He did not mention which model but did tell me they are an excellent cost effective alternative to the more expensive name brand tires. He said they would be a huge improvement over the Yokahomas the dealer put on when I purchased the car a couple of years ago. Considering how poor the Yoko's traction on wet pavement is, I couldn't argue with him. He also mentioned that my Yokahomas appear to be starting to dry rot and the Toyos will be much better tires considering our climate. I know you get what you pay for so I am not looking for the cheapest tire I can find. I do want to get the best value for the money without compromising the smooth, quite and safe ride the LS 400 has to offer. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
Matthew_McNally Posted December 25, 2003 Posted December 25, 2003 I am running Toyo Proxes T1 S on my IS - and I am very pleased with them. excellent grip in the wet and dry - and I have 12k miles on them so far with no appreciable signs of wear. they are also significantly quieter than the Bridgestone Potenza's I replaced
JPI Posted December 26, 2003 Posted December 26, 2003 Toyo tires a lot better than the Potenza. For those of you had the Potenza a while back. They recall all the Potenza tires on Is300. www.jpimportz.org
jbsmithsa Posted December 26, 2003 Author Posted December 26, 2003 JPI, Do you know of a good independent Lexus mechanic in San Antonio that can be trusted? I need to have some workdone ie; front shocks, brakes and 90,000 mile maintenance done.
