boomer
The trunk lifts on my 2003 LS430 are shot. Does anyone have info on how hard it is to replace them? The struts are ball-and-socket on both ends. Looks pretty straight forward but I'm not sure how difficult it is to remove and replace them. Thanks much for any advice. jjsoni1
They are not too difficult to replace if you normally wrench on your cars. You can buy them on ebay for fairly cheap ($35-$60). I had my mechanic change them in my SC in 15 minutes. He charged me $20. Good luck!
PilotguyPA28
I, too, have an '03 LS430. I changed mine 2 months ago. Bought off eBay for $75. One was bad they shipped replacement immediately, no return required. I'd recommend them to anyone. Just take a flat screwdriver and pop the small metal ring off the old one the loosen the ball part from the joint on both ends. Only replace one side at a time so the turnk won't fall on you. Align the new ones to fit, pop back on the joint and put the new metal ring on. Takes only a few minutes. Here's the company on eBay.............. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-NEW-TRUNK...sspagenameZWDVW
