Kingmag2006 Posted September 13, 2008 Share Posted September 13, 2008 Whats up Lexus Owners Club (it's a Sony Radio)Radio powers on but after a minute the lights cut off,and when i press the vol button it goes crazy high,and when i push it down the vol goes up and down,then my screen won't light up,i checked my fuses there all good,but i don't know if i should rewire the radio or buy another one,can someone please help me Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Rhoderman Posted September 14, 2008 Share Posted September 14, 2008 Check the ground. Apparently you have power since it tries to work. Make sure that power has a way to get back to the battery (minus=chassis ground). Lots of people don't run a ground wire. They just don't know any better. The radio typically does get (intermittent) ground through the antenna/frame/or whatever. A good solid ground wire from the shell of the radio to a good ground point does wonders.
