Need Some Fixin

This is my first post - can anyone help me find someone to fix up my 95 SC300? My problems are: - 1) passenger seat only one of the tracks works, so the seat is stuck and when it moves it moves only slightly and on one track. 2) trunk doesn't stay up all the way, always falling on my head 3) antenna only raises up halfway, doesn't seem to get AM reception 4) leather inside is pretty banged up 5) car seems to eat oil without leaking and in general needs a tune up. 6) minor electronics issues. I don't know if I should take it to a dealership or just a local mechanic. I am in Philadelphia, if anyone knows someone good, please let me know. Thanks.

If you have limited mechanical knowledge i would take it to a mechanic. But i know specifically about your oil problem, i had it with mine. If it is "eating" oil and not dripping it on the ground or smoking, then the valve cover/spark plug gaskets are leaking, the oil is running down the block/manifold and being immediately burned off. Run your finger below the ledge where your head meets the block, you'll probably find tons of black residue.

1) What do you mean only one track works? Is there an obstacle or is it moving one direction?

2) You just need to replace the trunk struts. you can buy them from PepBoys or Advanced Auto or Ebay(kind of common). about $20-40. If you pull-back on the trim behind seat in the trunk you'll see the joints.

3) Try to slowly bend/Wabble the antenna mask and watch it rise. Also listen and watch to the Antenna mask dropping when you turn the radio off if it sounds like it stops moving but the motor is running you just need a new mask with. Worse case scenerio you have to buy a new Antenna unit. Buy that from the Dealer since I really did not like the ones on Ebay or NAPA. Be sure to buy the rubber gasket around the antenna/hole.

4) Tune-up, you can buy kit from the dealer and do the work yourself. If not expect to pay a bit.

You can always take the car to a Toyota Dealer to get it done a bit cheaper, or look for a Certified Master Toyota or ASE tech. They'll guarantee the work.

Thanks - really minor electrical issues, like the fasten seat belt like doesn't go off, lumbar support doesn't seem to work in driver's seat, the speedometer needles are dimming, I think that's it really. The passenger seat I think has something blocking one of the tracks, the seat moves back and turns, but the motor still works, so I think there's just something blocking the track. Thanks for the advice about the tune up kit, but my concern is that I've had the car for 7 years/90k miles and I haven't done anything besides replace tires, brakes and oil. The car seems to run fine, but I want to be sure.
