Removing The Cross-bars On The Top Rack?

I have an '07 RX, and it's not at all obvious to me, how I do this. Can anyone tell me how to remove these cross bars--I don't use the top rack and these bars sometime rattle, and also cause me to use just a little more gas.

You'll be sure that the rear rail plastic covers will break but they don't in my experience. There are some other posts with more detailed instructions but I can't find them with the LOC search engine.
