jcrome04
Hey everyone. I'm thinking about MAYBE color-matching my engine cover to my car. (code 046-Opal White Pearl) Will this normal paint last on the engine COVER or will that still be too hot? And if not would spraying a high heat clear over it work? Thanks everyone! I need to buy some touch-up and am just wondering if I should worry about ordering some in a spray can as well! Thanks!!! :D
TA in KC
One of the members on a Mitsubishi forum I visit painted the engine cover gold on their 1998 Diamante. I know it resisted heat fine. I assume you are talking about the plastic piece on top of the engine, or are you talking about the cover on the bottom?
jcrome04
Yeah the plastic cover on top. That says "1UZFE" on it. I want to color match it then paint the "1UZFE" Black and maybe put a high temp gloss over it. I don't know much about paints, but just wondering if it would hold up ok under there, and if it was ok to put a regular paint under a high temp gloss. I just figured better safe than sorry!
