adriennei Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 hi everyone, i'm new here. i currently have a curt classIII hitch to be installed on my 04 rx330. i would like to install the wiring. i found this http://www.autoanything.com/towing/75A3875A0A0.aspx and i'm wondering if this will work. otherwise, i think i need to do some splicing or do i need the wires from lexus. can anyone help me figure this out?

I can't help you with wiring but how about some FREE towing advice..?? There is a design flaw in your transaxle that might result in premature failure if you plan to tow something over 500-1000 lbs, and even that in hilly terrain or with a heavy cabin load in addition. With the advent of the RX330 Lexus adopted DBW to "protect the drive train" due to the design flaw.

It is my understanding that if you have the "tow prep package" then you can just plug in the factory harness (similar to what is in your picture). If you don't have the "tow prep package" then there is some type of electronics box that has be installed in the back and this is what provides the dongle for the wiring harness.
