ajay95
Firestone said that my front valve cover gasket is leaking oil and will be about $350 to fix? Is this a good price? is this a DIY job?
blk_on_blk
I would think this would be a DIY job, for you pretty much just have to remove the beauty cover and ignition coil packs, and then I think it's pretty accessible... a 10mm wrench to remove the cover and then replace the gasket. fpny
If the front cover gasket is leaking, chances are the rear cover gasket is also leaking as well. The rear gasket is a lot more differicult to replace as far as I know. Can anyone give me an idea of :( the cost of replacing both the front and the rear gasket? I was quoted $600 for both the valve cover gaskets for my 97 ES300 about a year ago. This was from an independent Lexus repair shop.
