Mango Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 I was hoping one of you could help me. The battery warning light has started coming on. I've been told this means the battery isn't discharging properly, and it could be a problem with the acceleration belt. Is this something I can easily repair? If I go in to get it fixed what price am I looking at? Thanks
blk_on_blk Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 You should have the battery checked for functionality. If it's fine, then look at the alternator/voltage-regulator. These would be the top two potential culprits I would look at. Both are not a huge expense to repair. You can get a nice replacement battery at Costco. The alternator is a bit more work/money. ...but you won't know which it is until you get them tested.
Mango Posted June 2, 2008 Author Posted June 2, 2008 Thanks, do you know what sort of place I can get the battery tested?
blk_on_blk Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Any Autozone, Checker, Schucks, Napa, Kneck's, Pep Boys, Les Schwab Tire, Advanced Auto Parts, or any other such local automotive parts store should be able to help you out. A battery check should be free at any of those places.
