DCPOLITICIAN
I was inspired to order all the parts for a 90k service for my beautiful 2001 LS430, including timing belt, drive belt, plugs, etc. and went to a mechanic who specialized in Lexus before (was at my old dealer) and then branched off. Afterwards, my AC wasn't working and he said it may be a problem with the ECU -- He said it may be a power problem to the compressor. Any ideas? I talked to the Lexus dealer and he wants to charge an hours worth of labor to diagnose. Anyone else have this problem? Should I pony up the hundred bucks for the diagnosis and see what they have to say? Thanks,
eatingupblacktop
That's the minimum the dealer will charge you for going through their doors. I would have them diagnose the problem and if it's attributable to the work your mechanic did during the 90k service, have him pick up the tab for the diagnosis and do the required repair. I'm assuming of course that you are dealing with a trustworthy and reputable ex Lex tech.
