saratogasc400 Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 I stored a car over the winter and I'm curious if there is anything special I need to do to get it ready for the spring restart. I stored it according advice from the Porsche Club of America. i.e. gas stabilizer, overinflating tires, super cleaning before storing, covering exhaust, topping off/ changing fluids. the car has stored inside, covered, but not heated. What should I do to make sure the restart is smooth without any damage? Thanks for the help.
jzz30 Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 you could go as far as putting a cap full of oil in each spark plug hole but i dont think its really needed. what you can that might be a good idea if you go that far is while you have the plugs out crank the engine to get the oil primed. but then again its a toyota it will run forever hehe!
UCF3 Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 that's true, it's a Toyota, not a Porsche. as long as you've changed the old oil, it should turn over. Just check your battery terminals for corrosion build-up and start it up
