dtt Posted December 4, 2003 Posted December 4, 2003 Lately I am having problem of starting my 2000 es 300 in the morning. I have to push on the gas pedal a bit to avoid the engine from dying. The problem is that it only happens randomly and difficult to predict. Any idea is appreciated.
turnbowm Posted December 4, 2003 Posted December 4, 2003 Sounds like the idle air control (IAC) valve may be getting dirty. Seems to be a fairly common problem.... happened to my wife's 98 ES300 at 45,000 miles! Some dealers clean the valve while others replace it. Cost can run $200-$400. Was able to take care of the problem myself with a can of CRC Air Intake cleaner. Best regards, Martin T.
SKperformance Posted December 4, 2003 Posted December 4, 2003 The iac sounds liek the problem as it is common on the 97-01 ES. You should have no problem gettnig it replaced under warrenty.
