Serpentine (drive Belt) Layout For 93 Gs 300

Recommended Posts

OK...i feel like a dufus!

Just replaced the front oil seal and timing belt on a 1993 Lexus GS300.....and I cannot remember how the drive belt was laid out.

Can anyone share a link or pic of an installed serpentine (drive) belt.

Thanks

I tried to upload an image but maybe i can just descibe it.

The belt goes on the outisde of all pulleys eccpt for the Tensioner

----------O

O----t

----C---O

these o's represent the pulley's C for Crank pulley

and the t is the tensioner

Like i said the the belt goes around the perimeter of all the pulleys then on the bottom side of the Tensioner.

The dashes made the image look like it needed to. just disregard them

Now i feel like the dufus for the sweet image and spelling

Thanks for the efforts on this!!!!!

I was finally able to find a PDF image of belt layout for the GS 300.....and it was on this site :-) Sometimes it is so very difficult to find the answers .

Here is an image for future searchers. Hopefully is clear enough to understand. THe "******" represents the belt.

So how much should I ask for a 1994 Lexus GS 300 with 135K miles?

I got it from a guy at work who dumped it because it was overheating......and the shop he was taking it to could not diagnose a blown headgasket.

It has a new radiator, water pump, headgasket, CAM Seals, Front Seals, other misc seals. I also replaced the timing belt and timing belt tensioner pulley. Also, I had a maching shop perform a resurfacing on the head and had a valve job performed.

The body is in great shape.....but the interior leather and some of the door plastic is ragged.

Also, the only power windows that work are the front and back passenger.

I am contemplating fixing the drivers side front.....but the outside molding is jacked because of a break in that occurred wit this car.........and it causes the window to pop off the track. I am not sure how easy it is (or if it is even possible) to fix the outer window molding.
