bain Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 I have a 92 SC400. The speedometer was intermittent for a while (a good tap on the dash brought it back). Now it is not registering at all. The odometer is not working properly nor is cruise control. I pulled the engine codes (even went into diagnostic mode) and receive no engine codes. I was thinking the problem to be one of the speed sensors, but thought they should show up when pulling the engine/transmission codes. The lack of sensor codes seems to point to a problem in the dash with the speedometer, but non-functioning odometer and cruise seem to point elsewhere. Does anyone have any recommendations? Should I just replace 1 or both of the speed sensors? It looks like Auto Zone carries speed sensors now. Should I try those or stick with original Lexus parts? Thanks for any help.
bain Posted February 28, 2008 Author Posted February 28, 2008 Can someone at least verify that speed sensor 1 is what drives the speedo? (Are there just the two speed sensors?)
