  1. Can someone at least verify that speed sensor 1 is what drives the speedo? (Are there just the two speed sensors?)
  2. I have a 92 SC400. The speedometer was intermittent for a while (a good tap on the dash brought it back). Now it is not registering at all. The odometer is not working properly nor is cruise control. I pulled the engine codes (even went into diagnostic mode) and receive no engine codes. I was thinking the problem to be one of the speed sensors, but thought they should show up when pulling the engine/transmission codes. The lack of sensor codes seems to point to a problem in the dash with the speedometer, but non-functioning odometer and cruise seem to point elsewhere. Does anyone have any recommendations? Should I just replace 1 or both of the speed sensors? It looks like Auto Zone carries speed sensors now. Should I try those or stick with original Lexus parts? Thanks for any help.
  3. I posted first in the SC forum and thought I would try here: 1992 SC400 stock Pioneer Radio/Cassette/12CD AM, tape, and CD all sound fine and seem to work (other than the usual CD problems). Antenna seems to work, extending to full on AM and extending to different heights for different FM stations. The cutting in and out seems to be worse on the lower stations and almost non-existent on the higher stations. Seems like it is an antenna problem. Any thoughts on what is causing this or how to fix it?

  5. 1992 SC400, the driver's window won't go up and down. I have the door panel off. The motor and controller work. I can feel the cord/cable move, but the window is no longer attached to the mechanism. There were a few bits of white plastic in the bottom of the door. I have the exploded view of the door from another post. How much of the door/window/molding/etc do I have to remove to get to the culprit? I believe it to be the attachment of the window to the rear glass guide, but I'm not certain what all to remove (and it what order) to verify this. Any recommendations? Does the glass need to come out? Do I need any special tools for that? Thanks for any recommendations you can provide. John
  6. Car runs well, no other noticable symptoms. It does sit quite a lot now as Sandra drives her Miata on the cool sunny days. It was borderline on its last emissions test (I forget which test). Thanks for the invaluable advice!!
  7. Engine Code 25, Air-Fuel Ratio Lean Malfunction. Any speculation on the probable cause of this and/or how to repair?
