Does anyone have a sunglasses cabin on the interior roof?

There is a place reserved for it and the manual of the car sais it exists.

But my dealer cant order it for some reason.

He sais he doesnt have the article nr in his books.

Only for the GS and the LS!

If i could get a hold on that nr he could order it.

any help would be great.

Dat’s veird? :D

My American version of the IS250 has a sunglass compartment in the same area as the map lights and moon roof control. I.e. above the rear-view mirror. Perhaps, if you don’t have the moon roof option the you don’t get the sunglass compartment. However I think I have seen non-moon roof cars with the compartment before. Perhaps in an EU difference?

We went through this with a car in GB, I believe. There was something about the European cars having some wiring junctions in that area instead of the little compartment. All the US cars have the sunglasses holder there.

If you really want to try to put one in, you might be want to enquire at

Ours has it as well. Don't sweat it, it doesn't hold but the smallest glasses ever made.

Up there some IS's have the intrusion sensor (motion sensor).

You can check to see if you have the intrusion sensor by scrolling through the menu thing by the controls near your steering wheel (same ones used for adjusting when the 'rings' light up).

We did indeed...it was on mine. Frank's posted the same query on the UK LOC site but with the same answer...the European model has the hinge down compartment but it has the motion sensor electronics screwed into the space. B)

The quick answer Frank is you cannot fit it unless you (1) fit the motion sensor somewhere else and (2) purchase the whole new overhead lamp unit from the USA and fit it.....bit extreme to have somewhere to stash your shades I think.

That's right it was your car. I didn't remember all the details. You're making fine contributions to the forum.
