cphomm Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Hello Everyone!, I'm newbie to this forum. this is a great place to visit if your looking for all things Lexus. I was wondering if someone can help. I had a factory bulb go out on me (h2r) and it has been replaced with upgraded to 8000k bulbs on both sides. However, the side where i thought the bulb had burnt out apparently wasn't, i was told it could be the relay switch. But if the relay switch is bad then the other side wouldn't be working also right. what would be the issue? thanks.
bartkat Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Could be the ballast. There's one under each headlight. The HID bulbs in the low beams are D2R
cphomm Posted February 12, 2008 Author Posted February 12, 2008 Could be the ballast. There's one under each headlight. The HID bulbs in the low beams are D2R it very well could be. how would i check or test that? i was afraid it could be internal wiring. but the ballast would make the most sense because wiring doesn't really go bad. but the ballast would be the most logical. i did mean to put D2R. they are bixenon right? what are the bulb size in the fogs? thanks.
bartkat Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 IS300 is not bixenon, just xenon for reflector housings. I dunno how to test the ballast but if you swap bulbs from the other side and it doesn't flash blue and then light up, it's probably the ballast.
