jmfox Posted November 29, 2003 Posted November 29, 2003 my daughter just bought a 97 ES300 & we have a couple of questions. 1) there is a rattling noise in the front end when going over bumps. There seems to be play in the top strut mounts (between the strut rod and the cover) but I'm not sure if that is normal. 2) there is a small round knob on the bottom horizontal surface of the dash, to the right of the steering column. She did not get an owners manual with the car and we have no clue what the knob is for. Thanks for any ideas
93lexuses Posted November 29, 2003 Posted November 29, 2003 I'm sure somebody will chime in for the questions that you need, but i can tell you this. If you go to Lexus.com you can get a free owners manual if you register. ;)
amf1932 Posted November 29, 2003 Posted November 29, 2003 there is a small round knob on the bottom horizontal surface of the dash, to the right of the steering column. That is a volume control(twist left or right) that changes the loudness of the sound when you use the remote lock on the ignition key. Example: You get out of the car and press the button on the key. The beeping sound volume can be adjusted by this knob. I leave mine in the full volume position because it's not very loud even in the full up position.;)
